Why don't we use Sahana Eden, or some other technology?

We looked at the Sahana code early on in this project, and came to the conclusion that some parts were useful, but others were not. Also, since our communication structure requires certain features in the database schema (notably, the Global ID table), we saw that it would be easier to roll our own code.

That said, we're not experts in application development. If you know better, please let us know on our forums so that everyone can benefit.
