Aren't you just trying to get cheap developers?

Aren't you just trying to get cheap developers through open source?

Not really. While it's true that we don't have the resources (read: time and money) to pull this off on our own, we also know that we have a moral obligation to try everything in our power to bring the CrisisCommunicator to disaster management as soon as possible.

We had a choice: use our limited funds to hire a programmer or two and (maybe) get a workable prototype, keeping everything to ourselves, OR put our idea out in the wild, help it and guide its development, and hope for the best.

Ultimately, we believe that more people can benefit this way.
